Marshals heads into a second season and Luke Grimes returns to SkyShowtime as soon as 9 October

SkyShowtime has released the trailer and the poster for the second season of the series Marshals and confirmed the date. The continuation of the most successful Yellowstone offshoot will be available on the platform exclusively from 9 October. Viewers can already watch the first season on SkyShowtime.

A cowboy with a badge
Luke Grimes appears once again as Kayce Dutton, the youngest of the Duttons. He has left the Yellowstone ranch behind and joined an elite unit of American federal marshals, where he draws on his experience as a cowboy and as a former Navy SEAL and tries to bring justice to Montana. Alongside him the team is made up of Pete “Cal” Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means). They are all solving the same equation. How to withstand the psychological strain of being the last line of defence in a regional fight against violence and at the same time not neglect their own family. For Kayce it is above all about his son Tate (Brecken Merrill) and about his confidants Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) and Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) from the Broken Rock reservation.

A phenomenon CBS got right at the first attempt
Marshals is the very first series from the Yellowstone universe made for a traditional television network and at the same time the first spin-off not written by Taylor Sheridan himself. It was created by Spencer Hudnut, who also runs the series as showrunner. And it paid off. The premiere episode of 1 March 2026 was seen by more than twenty million viewers across platforms within seven days and it was the most watched series premiere on CBS since The Big Bang Theory, or rather since Young Sheldon in 2017. The network ordered a second season after only two episodes had aired.

Kayce: “The Dutton legacy was never about the land. It was about having to keep on fighting.”

The difference will show in scale as well. While the first season had thirteen episodes, the second is to offer almost twenty. In American broadcast it starts as soon as 4 October on CBS.

New faces
Marque Richardson joins the cast in the recurring role of assistant federal prosecutor Patrick Burns. Morgan Lindholm also comes to the fore as Maddie, a barmaid from the local Bullet 'N Barrel and Cal's daughter. Brett Cullen is back as well, as the head of the Montana marshals.

The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, with distribution handled by Paramount Global Content Distribution. The executive producers include, besides Sheridan and Hudnut, David Glasser, John and Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Freidman, Keith Cox and Luke Grimes himself. Filming took place in Park City, Utah.

The whole universe in one place
SkyShowtime is home to Yellowstone with all five seasons, to the prequels 1883 and 1923 and to the series Dutton Ranch. From Sheridan's other work you will find Landman, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, The Madison and Tulsa King there, and Frisco King is coming soon.
